Camarata Masonry Systems, Ltd. (CMS) was founded August 1, 2004 by Kevin M. Camarata. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Camarata was the Vice President and General Manager of the prefabricated panel division of a nationwide stone contractor based in Louisiana and, most recently, the President/General Manager of a multi-state stone and masonry contractor based in Texas. Mr. Camarata was responsible for growing that company from a staff of approximately one dozen to well over 500 and completing the masonry and/or stone work on such monumental projects as Minute Maid Park (formerly Enron Field), Reliant Stadium (home of the National Football League Houston Texans), The Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall, The George Bush Presidential Library, The William J. Clinton Presidential Library, The Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art, The William R. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts and the Baker Street Jail (one of the largest county jails in the United States). Mr. Camarata brings extensive knowledge of stone and masonry systems to his own company together with a large staff of industry professionals (many of whom worked with him previously) having considerable experience successfully constructing some of the largest and most intricate commercial projects built in the United States during the last quarter century.
Camarata Masonry Systems, Ltd. is licensed in multiple states and, as one of the largest masonry, stone and tile companies in the country, is capable of building any size project. CMS specializes in all types of masonry (decorative and structural concrete masonry units, brick, glazed tile, glass block, Arriscraft and architectural cast stone), dimensional natural stone (marble, granite, slate, limestone, sandstone and onyx), thin-set tile (ceramic, porcelain and stone) and terrazzo (cementitious and epoxy). CMS is experienced in the erection of architectural precast concrete and the supply and installation of foamed-in-place and rigid insulation, waterproofing / dampproofing, flashing systems and miscellaneous steel. CMS is capable of panelizing natural stone and masonry and is experienced with all stone installation techniques inclusive of mechanically anchored, thin-set, dry pack mud bed, wire and plaster, dry stack and conventionally mortared. CMS commonly provides engineering services for stone façade systems and will provide engineering for the associated substrate when requested.
Camarata Masonry Systems, Ltd. is fully insured carrying workers compensation, general liability and umbrella liability coverage with significant limits provided by an A. M. Best A rated carrier. In addition, it is capable of providing payment and performance bonds from an A. M. Best rated A++ carrier for any size project.
Camarata Masonry Systems, Ltd. is a member of the Marble Institute of America, the Mason Contractors Association of America, the Houston Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association, the Texas Masonry Council, the Texas Construction Association, The Masonry Society, the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston, the National Tile Contractors Association, the Houston Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Houston and an Associate member of the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Camarata is currently a Director of the Texas Construction Association (TCA). He is a past State Chairman of the Mason Contractors Association of America, past Director of the Houston Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, past President of the Texas Masonry Council, past President of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston and past director of the Construction Career Collaborative (C3).
