Project: HEB Central Mechanical
ree

>>> The H-E-B Central Mechanical Building in Houston, Texas, is an infrastructure project designed to enhance the operations of H-E-B's milk processing facility.  The 13,630-square-foot addition to the existing facility incorporates concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls as a fundamental component of its construction.  Our scope of work included the supply and installation of CMU for the interior structural divider walls and the exterior architectural façades, with a focus on quality, durability, and aesthetic alignment with H-E-B’s branding.

The interior divider walls utilized 1,600 units of 8x8x16 Regular Grey CMU and 7,700 units of 12x8x16 Regular Grey CMU to support the facility’s mechanical infrastructure.  The exterior architectural façade comprises 17,000 units of 12x8x16 Limestone Buff Splitface CMU and 2,800 units of 12x8x16 Paprika Splitface CMU (used as an accent band), both with integral water repellent.  The Paprika Splitface CMU was custom-fabricated in Dallas to match the iconic H-E-B red logo, offering a complimentary and visually striking accent. The exterior perimeter walls were constructed with #8 vertical reinforcing bars at 8 inches on center, horizontal bond beams placed at every 4'-0" elevation and fully grouted solid construction for structural integrity.

Daily pull plan sessions and MEP coordination meetings were held to ensure accurate placement of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing penetrations and to maintain alignment with project schedule and quality standards.  Our crews maintained exceptional productivity and discipline, ensuring daily production targets were consistently met — while prioritizing jobsite safety and achieving zero recordable injuries.
